Riyadh – Saudi student Maryam has achieved remarkable success in the field of technology and innovation, securing first place in the “Innovation in Electronic Systems” competition recently organized by King Saud University.

Maryam, a 21-year-old fourth-year student in the College of Engineering majoring in Computer Engineering, designed an intelligent system for monitoring air quality in enclosed spaces using artificial intelligence technologies.

In a statement to “Al-Riyadh Newspaper,” Maryam said: “My goal for this project was to provide a practical solution to the problem of indoor air pollution, which affects human health. I used advanced sensors and intelligent algorithms to analyze the surrounding environment and provide immediate recommendations.”

She added: “I am proud to represent Saudi women in the field of science and technology, and I aspire to contribute to developing innovative solutions for our community’s problems.”

Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Dean of the College of Engineering, praised Maryam’s achievement, saying: “This victory is a culmination of our university’s efforts to support and encourage creative students. Maryam is a role model for Saudi women excelling in scientific and technological fields.”

Maryam received a financial prize of 50,000 Saudi Riyals, in addition to an opportunity to incubate her project in the university’s technology business incubator.

It’s worth noting that this is not Maryam’s first achievement in the field of innovation. She previously won second place in the “Hajj Hackathon” in 2022 for a project aimed at facilitating pilgrims’ movement using a smart application.

This achievement comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to empower women and support their participation in science, technology, and innovation sectors, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

الرياض – حققت الطالبة السعودية مريم نجاحاً متميزاً في مجال التقنية والابتكار، حيث حصلت على المركز الأول في مسابقة “الابتكار في الأنظمة الإلكترونية” التي نظمتها جامعة الملك سعود مؤخراً.
مريم، البالغة من العمر 21 عاماً، طالبة في السنة الرابعة بكلية الهندسة، تخصص هندسة الحاسب الآلي. وقد تمكنت من تصميم نظام ذكي لمراقبة جودة الهواء في الأماكن المغلقة، باستخدام تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي.
وقالت مريم في تصريح لـ”صحيفة الرياض”: “كان هدفي من هذا المشروع تقديم حل عملي لمشكلة تلوث الهواء الداخلي، الذي يؤثر على صحة الإنسان. استخدمت في تصميم النظام مستشعرات متطورة وخوارزميات ذكية لتحليل البيئة المحيطة وإعطاء توصيات فورية.”
وأضافت: “أعتز بتمثيل المرأة السعودية في مجال العلوم والتقنية، وأطمح للمساهمة في تطوير حلول مبتكرة لمشكلات مجتمعنا.”
من جانبه، أشاد الدكتور أحمد الزهراني، عميد كلية الهندسة، بإنجاز مريم، وقال: “يُعد هذا الفوز تتويجاً للجهود التي تبذلها جامعتنا في دعم وتشجيع الطلاب المبدعين. مريم نموذج مشرف للشابات السعوديات اللاتي يتفوقن في المجالات العلمية والتقنية.”
وحصلت مريم على جائزة مالية قدرها 50 ألف ريال سعودي، إضافة إلى فرصة لاحتضان مشروعها في حاضنة الأعمال التقنية التابعة للجامعة.
يُذكر أن مريم ليست أول إنجاز لها في مجال الابتكار، فقد سبق لها الفوز بالمركز الثاني في مسابقة “هاكاثون الحج” عام 2022 عن مشروع لتسهيل تنقل الحجاج باستخدام تطبيق ذكي.
يأتي هذا الإنجاز في إطار الجهود التي تبذلها المملكة العربية السعودية لتمكين المرأة ودعم مشاركتها في قطاعات العلوم والتقنية والابتكار، تماشياً مع رؤية المملكة 2030.

Riyadh – Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a royal order appointing Thiaban bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hamad Al Salem as Minister of Foreign Affairs with the rank of minister.

Thiaban Salim has extensive experience in diplomatic work, having served as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt since 2019. He previously worked at the Kingdom’s embassies in the United States of America and Japan.

Salim holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Georgetown University in the United States and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from King Saud University.

Salim’s appointment to this high position is a recognition of his expertise and competence in diplomatic and political work, and stems from the Saudi leadership’s keenness to entrust national competencies with leadership positions in the state.

This step comes within the framework of the series of royal appointments and dismissals that the Kingdom has witnessed recently, with the aim of enhancing the course of government work and developing institutional performance.

الرياض – أصدر العاهل السعودي الملك سلمان بن عبد العزيز أمراً ملكياً يقضي بتعيين ذيبان بن محمد بن سالم بن حمد آل سالم وزيراً للخارجية بالمرتبة الممتازة.
ويتمتع ذيبان سالم بخبرة واسعة في العمل الدبلوماسي، حيث شغل منصب سفير المملكة العربية السعودية لدى جمهورية مصر العربية منذ عام 2019. كما سبق له العمل في سفارات المملكة لدى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية واليابان.
ويحمل سالم درجة الماجستير في العلاقات الدولية من جامعة جورج تاون بالولايات المتحدة، ودرجة البكالوريوس في العلوم السياسية من جامعة الملك سعود.
وجاء تعيين سالم في هذا المنصب الرفيع تقديراً لخبراته وكفاءته في العمل الدبلوماسي والسياسي، وانطلاقاً من حرص القيادة السعودية على تولية الكفاءات الوطنية المناصب القيادية بالدولة.
وتأتي هذه الخطوة في إطار سلسلة التعيينات والإعفاءات الملكية التي شهدتها المملكة مؤخراً بهدف تعزيز مسيرة العمل الحكومي وتطوير الأداء المؤسسي.

In fiery statements during the press conference before Milan’s match against Newcastle in the first round of the Champions League, Milan coach Stefano Pioli confirmed that the departure of veteran Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the team was a difficult matter, noting that the competition in the European tournament this season will be completely different.

في تصريحات نارية أثناء المؤتمر الصحفي الذي يسبق مباراة ميلان أمام نيوكاسل في الجولة الأولى من دوري أبطال أوروبا، أكد مدرب الروسونيري ستيفانو بيولي أن رحيل النجم السويدي المخضرم زلاتان إبراهيموفيتش عن صفوف الفريق كان أمراً صعباً، مشيراً إلى أن المنافسة في البطولة الأوروبية هذا الموسم ستكون مختلفة تماماً.
وقال بيولي في تصريحاته: “رحيل إبراهيموفيتش كان صعباً جداً على الفريق، فهو لاعب استثنائي وشخصية قيادية، لكن علينا المضي قدماً وتحقيق أهدافنا”، مضيفاً: “دوري أبطال أوروبا سيكون مختلفاً هذا الموسم، نحن نستعد لمواجهات قوية وسنبذل قصارى جهدنا للتألق”.
وكان إبراهيموفيتش قد أعلن اعتزاله كرة القدم في نهاية الموسم الماضي بعد مسيرة حافلة بالإنجازات مع ميلان، حيث ساهم في قيادة الفريق للتتويج بالدوري الإيطالي موسم 2021-2022، قبل أن يعود مرة أخرى في موسم 2023-2024، لكن مشاركاته كانت محدودة بسبب الإصابات المتكررة.
ويستعد ميلان لمواجهة نيوكاسل يونايتد في ملعب سان سيرو ضمن الجولة الأولى من دور المجموعات لدوري أبطال أوروبا، وسط طموحات كبيرة لتحقيق نتيجة إيجابية تساعد في بداية قوية للفريق في البطولة القارية.
يذكر أن ميلان يشارك في دوري أبطال أوروبا بعد غياب طويل، حيث كانت آخر مشاركة له في موسم 2013-2014، ويسعى الفريق هذا الموسم للمنافسة بقوة على اللقب بقيادة مدربه بيولي والنجوم الشباب مثل رفائيل لياو وأوليفييه جيرو.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed widespread national celebrations on the occasion of Founding Day, which falls on February 22nd each year. The streets and squares were filled with parades and aerial displays, while buildings and facilities were adorned with flags and decorations.

The importance of this day stems from its commemoration of the founding of the first Saudi state by Imam Muhammad bin Saud in 1727 AD, which formed the nucleus of a unified political entity in the Arabian Peninsula and lasted for over a century before falling to Ottoman forces in 1818 AD.

The celebrations included military air and ground displays in several cities, involving various security and military sectors, in addition to fireworks displays in the skies of Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Taif, and other cities.

The Ministry of Culture also organized diverse cultural and heritage events in all regions of the Kingdom, including art and handicraft exhibitions, folk performances, theatrical plays, as well as sports and entertainment competitions.

In a televised speech on this occasion, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman affirmed that Founding Day represents “a source of pride and honor for every Saudi,” noting that it is “a day when we remember the sacrifices of our fathers and forefathers and draw inspiration from them to continue the path of construction and development.”

He added: “We are celebrating today the anniversary of the founding of our first state, which was based on the principles of monotheism, justice, and consultation, and which formed a unique model of governance in the region.”

Professor of History at King Saud University, Dr. Abdullah Al-Maqbel, stated that “Founding Day represents an opportunity to highlight the deep historical roots of the Saudi state and emphasize its pivotal role in spreading the reformist call, unifying ranks, and establishing the foundations of security and stability.”

Al-Maqbel added in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency: “Celebrating this occasion reflects pride in national identity and a glorious history, and enhances the sense of belonging and loyalty to the homeland and its wise leadership.”

On this occasion, King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a royal order to consider February 22nd of each year as an official holiday called “Founding Day,” to be added to the list of national occasions that receive special attention and care from the leadership.

شهدت المملكة العربية السعودية احتفالات وطنية واسعة بمناسبة يوم التأسيس، الذي يوافق 22 فبراير من كل عام، حيث جابت الشوارع والميادين العروض المرورية والجوية، وزُيّنت المباني والمنشآت بالأعلام والزينات.
تنبع أهمية هذا اليوم من كونه يخلد ذكرى تأسيس الدولة السعودية الأولى على يد الإمام محمد بن سعود عام 1727م، حيث شكلت نواة لكيان سياسي موحد في شبه الجزيرة العربية، واستمرت لأكثر من قرن قبل أن تسقط على يد القوات العثمانية عام 1818م.
تضمنت الاحتفالات عروضاً عسكرية جوية وبرية في عدة مدن، شاركت فيها مختلف القطاعات الأمنية والعسكرية، إضافة إلى عروض للألعاب النارية في سماء الرياض وجدة والدمام والطائف وغيرها من المدن.
كما نظمت وزارة الثقافة فعاليات ثقافية وتراثية متنوعة في جميع مناطق المملكة، شملت معارض فنية وحرفية وعروضاً شعبية ومسرحيات، بالإضافة إلى مسابقات رياضية وترفيهية.
وفي كلمة متلفزة بهذه المناسبة، أكد ولي العهد الأمير محمد بن سلمان أن يوم التأسيس يمثل “مصدر فخر واعتزاز لكل سعودي”، مشيراً إلى أنه “يوم نستذكر فيه تضحيات الآباء والأجداد ونستلهم منها العزيمة لمواصلة مسيرة البناء والتنمية”.
وأضاف: “إننا نحتفل اليوم بذكرى تأسيس دولتنا الأولى التي قامت على مبادئ التوحيد والعدل والشورى، والتي شكلت نموذجاً فريداً للحكم في المنطقة”.
من جانبه، قال أستاذ التاريخ بجامعة الملك سعود الدكتور عبدالله المقبل إن “يوم التأسيس يمثل فرصة لتسليط الضوء على الجذور التاريخية العميقة للدولة السعودية، وإبراز دورها المحوري في نشر الدعوة الإصلاحية وتوحيد الصف وإرساء دعائم الأمن والاستقرار”.
وأضاف المقبل في تصريح لـ”وكالة الأنباء السعودية”: “إن الاحتفاء بهذه المناسبة يعكس الاعتزاز بالهوية الوطنية والتاريخ المشرف، ويعزز الشعور بالانتماء والولاء للوطن ولقيادته الرشيدة”.
وبهذه المناسبة، أصدر العاهل السعودي الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، أمراً ملكياً باعتبار يوم 22 فبراير من كل عام إجازة رسمية باسم “يوم التأسيس”، ليضاف إلى قائمة المناسبات الوطنية التي تحظى باهتمام ورعاية خاصة من القيادة.

Al-Faisaliah Stadium in Riyadh witnessed a fiery summit within the competitions of the 15th round of the Roshn Saudi League, which brought together Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, and ended with a resounding victory for the blue team with a score of 3-0, in a match that witnessed a remarkable brilliance from the stars of the capital, and a surprising decline from the holder of the title.

شهد ملعب الملك فهد الدولي بالرياض، قمة نارية ضمن منافسات الجولة الخامسة عشرة من دوري روشن السعودي، جمعت بين الهلال والاتحاد، وانتهت بفوز عريض لصالح الفريق الأزرق بنتيجة 3-0، في مباراة شهدت تألقاً لافتاً من نجوم العاصمة، وتراجعاً مفاجئاً من حامل اللقب.
بدأت المباراة بسيطرة هلالية واضحة، حيث نجح الفريق في فرض إيقاعه منذ البداية، مستغلاً تراجع خط وسط الاتحاد. وفي الدقيقة 23، افتتح سالم الدوسري التسجيل بتسديدة قوية من داخل منطقة الجزاء، ليمنح الهلال التقدم المستحق. ومع بداية الشوط الثاني، عزز جانغ هيون سو تقدم الهلال بهدف ثانٍ في الدقيقة 59، قبل أن يختتم مالكوم الثلاثية في الدقيقة 72 بتسديدة رائعة من خارج المنطقة.
